W.I.P - Perpendicular Ovals

The "W" in this particular W.I.P stands for Wedding quilt (so maybe it should read W.Q.I.P, but that's just weird), and this particular wedding is less than a year away. yikes.
I was going to be all traditional and do a double wedding ring quilt but they are not DWR kind of people (although I almost did it anyway because really want to make one!).

This is where the panic set in, so little time to 1) think of a pattern 2) choose the colour/fabric 3) get the fabric 4) do the patchwork 5) quilt, bind, etc. when I only have evening to do the afore mentioned tasks - panicking doesn't seem so silly now does it?
But! I was perusing pintrest the other day (as you do) and came across this beauty

Oho by Zen Chic

Inspiration struck, especially when I saw the same quilt on the Sew Kind Of Wonderful flickr group (here) and loved it even more. I'm telling you it was fate - I got the quick curve ruler as a Christmas gift and have been wanting to try it out ever since (well technically I've been wanting to use it since I first saw it).

So I am off to try and figure out how to use my QCR to make my version of this lovely quilt, I can only hope it goes smoothly....
